Mohnton-Cumru Lions Club Great Pumpkin Parade!

The date for the next parade will be on Saturday, October 21, 2023 (No Rain Date) at 7:00 PM starting in the Northridge Section of Mohnton. This page is designed to help you to register for participation in the parade and answer questions you may have. The parade is always the third Saturday in October and has been running since 1956.

JUDGING: Walkers will be judged in Northridge between 6:30 & 6:50 PM, Floats & Dual Groups will be judged as they pass the review stand on Wyomissing Ave.

Public Parking

All Parade Participants and Spectators can use the Public Parking Area on Wyomissing Avenue across the Street from the Exxon in Mohnton & catty-corner to the Mohnton Park where the parade ends. There is no fee to park and Shuttle Buses will transport participants to the parade staging area. ****There will be NO public parking in the Northridge Staging Area****

It is a tradition during the Mohnton-Cumru Lions Club Great Pumpkin Parade that the participants shower the children on the parade route with Halloween candy. To view the streets of Mohnton, lined with little children dressed in their Halloween costumes with hundreds of bright orange pumpkins at the ready to collect all of that candy, you’ll agree, the only name befitting this parade is the “Great Pumpkin Parade”.

Food vendors line the streets and offer a variety of goodies such as Philly Cheese Steaks, hamburgers, hotdogs, funnel cakes, French fries, soft drinks and balloons.

A first place prize of $500.00 goes to the best float/dual entry. Anyone is welcome to enter a float. Although this is a Halloween Parade, there is no required theme for a float entry. Please check our Parade Categories Section for Float guidelines. Entrants must be pre-registered to eligible for cash prizes.

Upon registration, every Float/Dual, Individual, Group or Organization is placed into a category. Walkers are judged at the line up location on Sycamore between 6:20 and 6:45 PM. Floats/Dual Groups are judged during the parade and prizes are awarded accordingly.
